There are several major changes from previous years’ championships this year. Here’s a listing of them:
* This is a 14u single age SCY Championship. LCM Summer will also be 14&U multi-age Championship.
* Meet is designed to prioritize Age Group development per LSC board and encourage swimmers to advance to Senior … so we’ve framed event list to match Western Zone Age Group.
* JAG’s will be 18&U with all but distance events & 50-stroke for 15-18 slower than SR-A. (Tentatively scheduled for Kailua).
* Event list based on WZ meet event list; had to move a few from day 1 due to shorter day, and added 13 & 14 50 strokes.
* Prelims and finals all 4 days (Day 1 prelims start a little later)
* Two (2) bonuses allowed for each qualified swimmer
* One (1) final for each age group 10u, 11, 12, 13, 14. 11-12 & 13-14 swim together in prelims.
* Only 2 relays per team per event: 10, 12u, 11-14 age groups
* No 800 free relay.
* No relay-only swimmers – all relay swimmers must be qualified and entered in at least one individual event.
* Relays at end of finals. distance at end of prelims.
* Time standards for 10u are noticeably easier, 11 & 12 a bit easier in the distance & strokes, 13 & 14 about the same.
* Time standards for 12 same as 11-12 year-round, for 14 same as 13-14. 11 & 13 5% slower than 12 & 14 respectively.
* Unrelated, but 15-18 standards for meets through the year are SR-A, and IN, A, B for non-senior meets are 10% slower for each time standard from SR-A.
